Different types of work holding devices used in fitter shop

Work holding devices used in fitter shop are:
Vice, Angle plate, V block, Rectangular block etc.

Vice
The various types of vices used in bench fitting operations are :
Bench Vice
Leg vice
Pin vice
Pipe vice
Hand vice
Tool maker's vice
Bench Vice
Bench vice is used for various bench fitting operations like filing, sawing, tapping, dieing etc. Bench vice is usually fixed on benches by using nut and bolt.
Pin Vice
Pin vice is used for holding round materials of smaller diameters such as wires and pins during working.
Pipe Vice
Pipe Vices are used for holding round metals, tubes, pipes etc. for various fitting operations like cutting.
Angle plate
Angle plates are used for marking and layout work and for for machining operations. The work is clamped on the angle plate by using C-Clamp or nut  and bolts. It is normally made of cast iron. Two plane surfaces and sides of the angle plates are finished to get mutual  perpendicularity.
V-block
V-blocks are used to hold the workpieces with round or cylindrical surfaces. Specially made clamps like U-Clamps which fit into slots on the sides of the v-block is used for clamping. V-blocks are usually made  out of cast iron. Precision type v-blocks are made of tool steels hardened and tempered.
